Every prayer, class, event, and community program at ICHLA is made possible by dedicated volunteers.

Why Volunteer?

Volunteering at the masjid is more than helping, it is an opportunity to earn reward from Allah, build friendships, strengthen our community, and leave a lasting impact.

1. Earning Reward from Allah- نيل الأجر والثواب من الله 

التطوع في خدمة المسجد والمجتمع من أعظم أبواب الخير، وهو فرصة عظيمة لاكتساب الحسنات والأجر المستمر.
﴾قال الله سبحانه وتعالي: ﴿ وَتَعَاوَنُوا عَلَى الْبِرِّ وَالتَّقْوَى
.”وقال رسول الله ﷺ: “أحب الناس إلى الله أنفعهم للناس

Volunteering in the masjid and serving the community is one of the greatest acts of goodness and a means of earning continuous reward from Allah.

ِAllah (SWT) said : “And cooperate in righteousness and piety.” (Qur’an 5:2)

And Prophet Muhammad (SAW) said: “The most beloved people to Allah are those who are most beneficial to people.”

2. Serving the House of Allah – خدمة بيت الله

.خدمة المسجد شرف عظيم وسبب لعمارة بيوت الله ونشر الخير بين المسلمين
﴾قال الله سبحانه وتعالي:  ﴿ إِنَّمَا يَعْمُرُ مَسَاجِدَ اللَّهِ مَنْ آمَنَ بِاللَّهِ وَالْيَوْمِ الْآخِرِ
.”قال رسول الله ﷺ: “من بنى لله مسجدًا بنى الله له بيتًا في الجنة

Serving the masjid is an honor and a means of maintaining and beautifying the houses of Allah.

Allah (SWT) said : “The mosques of Allah are only to be maintained by those who believe in Allah and the Last Day.” (Qur’an 9:18)

And Prophet Muhammad (SAW) said: “Whoever builds a mosque for Allah, Allah will build for him a house in Paradise.”

3. Strengthening the Muslim Community – تقوية المجتمع المسلم

.عندما يعمل المسلمون معًا، يزداد الترابط والتعاون والمحبة بينهم
﴾قال الله سبحانه وتعالي:  ﴿ إِنَّمَا الْمُؤْمِنُونَ إِخْوَةٌ
.”قال رسول الله ﷺ: “المؤمن للمؤمن كالبنيان يشد بعضه بعضًا

Working together strengthens unity, brotherhood, and cooperation among Muslims.

Allah (SWT) said : “The believers are but brothers.” (Qur’an 49:10)

And Prophet Muhammad (SAW) said: “The believer to another believer is like a building, each part strengthening the other.”

4. Helping Others – مساعدة الآخرين 

.من أعظم الأعمال إدخال السرور على المسلمين وقضاء حوائجهم
.”قال رسول الله ﷺ: “والله في عون العبد ما كان العبد في عون أخيه

Helping others and fulfilling their needs is among the most beloved deeds in Islam.

Prophet Muhammad (SAW) said: “Allah is in the aid of His servant as long as the servant is in the aid of his brother.”

5. Building Lasting Friendships – بناء صداقات وأخوة دائمة 

.التطوع يتيح فرصة للتعرف على إخوة وأخوات صالحين وبناء علاقات طيبة
﴾قال الله سبحانه وتعالي:  ﴿ الْأَخِلَّاءُ يَوْمَئِذٍ بَعْضُهُمْ لِبَعْضٍ عَدُوٌّ إِلَّا الْمُتَّقِينَ

Volunteering provides opportunities to meet righteous brothers and sisters and build meaningful friendships.

Allah (SWT) said : “Close friends, that Day, will be enemies to each other, except for the righteous.” (Qur’an 43:67)

6. Developing Skills and Leadership – اكتساب المهارات وتنمية القيادة

.التطوع يساعد على تنمية مهارات القيادة، والتنظيم، والعمل الجماعي، والتواصل
.”قال رسول الله ﷺ: “كلكم راع وكلكم مسؤول عن رعيته

Volunteering develops leadership, teamwork, organization, and communication skills.

Prophet Muhammad (SAW) said:  “Each of you is a shepherd and each of you is responsible for his flock.”

7. Leaving a Lasting Legacy – ترك أثر دائم

.قد يكون عملك التطوعي سببًا في استمرار الخير لسنوات طويلة بعدك
.”قال رسول الله ﷺ: “إذا مات ابن آدم انقطع عمله إلا من ثلاث: صدقة جارية، أو علم ينتفع به، أو ولد صالح يدعو له

Your volunteer efforts may continue benefiting people for years to come.

Prophet Muhammad (SAW) said:  “When a person dies, his deeds come to an end except for three: ongoing charity, beneficial knowledge, or a righteous child who prays for him.”

8. Becoming Part of Something Greater – أن تكون جزءًا من عمل عظيم

.كل صلاة، وكل درس، وكل فعالية ناجحة تحتاج إلى متطوعين مخلصين
﴾قال الله سبحانه وتعالي: ﴿ فَمَنْ تَطَوَّعَ خَيْرًا فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ شَاكِرٌ عَلِيمٌ

Every prayer, class, and successful event depends on dedicated volunteers.

Allah (SWT) said : “And whoever volunteers good, then indeed Allah is Appreciative and Knowing.” (Qur’an 2:158)

Requirements:
Participate in at least 10 community events or volunteer activities.

🌟 Level 2: Dedicated Volunteer

Requirements:
Participate in at least 20 community events or volunteer activities.

🌟 Level 3: Distinguished Volunteer

Requirements:
Participate in at least 40 community events or demonstrate consistent volunteer service throughout the year.

✔️ Public recognition by ICHLA

✔️ Priority consideration for leadership opportunities

🌟 Level 4: Outstanding Community Service Award

Requirements:

Demonstrate exceptional commitment, leadership, and long-term service to the community.

✔️ Featured on the ICHLA website and social media platforms

✔️ Official Letter of Recommendation (when applicable)

Official Volunteer Service Letters

Volunteers who actively participate in 10 or more documented events and maintain a positive record of service may request an official Volunteer Service Letter from ICHLA.

  • Employment opportunities
  • Community service documentation
  • Personal portfolios and resumes

Volunteer of the Month

Each month, ICHLA recognizes a volunteer who demonstrates outstanding dedication, sincerity, teamwork, and commitment in serving the community.

Recipients will be highlighted on the website and social media platforms.
